Background

Dr. Siti Hamidah Mohd. Setapar graduated with Doctor of Philosophy from Loughborough University, UK in Chemical Engineering (2008). She obtained her master degree in Separation Processes from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (2003). She graduated with Bachelor of Chemical Engineering, UTM (2000). She was joined UTM as Tutor in Chemical Engineering Department in 2001, and appointed as Lecturer in 2005.  She has more than 10 years of working experience in lecturing undergraduate students in chemical engineering subjects. She also supervised final year dissertation and design projects.

Dr. Siti Hamidah is a member of Center of Lifescience Engineering and Applied Research (CLEAR) and a research fellow of Institute of Bioproduct Development (IBD, UTM). Her main research area are in separation processes of pharmaceutical products, neutraceutical studies, and agricultural waste management. Her current researches are; extraction of antibiotic using reverse micelles, production of bio-animal feed, and production of bio-fertilizer from oil-palm waste. She is also involved in the research of separating vitamin E from palm oil, which she has international collaboration with other universities for this project. She was granted a research funding from the government of Malaysia. She is actively involved in publications, participating and presenting in both international and national technical conferences.

She is an affliate of the Institution of Chemical Engineers UK (IChemE), Board of Engineers, Malaysia (BEM), Filtration Society, UK, Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM) and Society of Education Engineering, Malaysia (SEEM).
