Currently, I am an academician in the Polymer Engineering Department, Faculty of Chemical Engineering (FChE), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) since 2001 and a member of the Polymer Enhancement Research Group (EnPro) which is under the Manufacturing and Materials Research Alliance (MMRA). I started my career as a tutor in the Polymer Engineering Department since March 2001 and promoted to a full lecturer on March 2003.

I am a member of the Polymer and Rubber Institute Malaysia (PRIM) since 2002 and a member of the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) since 2004. Besides national societies, I also joined the Institute of Physics (IOP), United Kingdom (2009 -2010) and a member of Society for the Advancement of Materials and Process Engineering (SAMPE Europe) in 2009.

I obtained my first degree in Chemical-Polymer Engineering from UTM in 2000 and completed my master degree in Polymer Engineering also from the same institution in 2002. I was then awarded with a PhD in Metallurgy and Materials (specialising in Cyclic Polymers) from the University of Birmingham (UoB), United Kingdom in 2010.

I have 10 years experience as an academician which consist of teaching, academic management, academic advisor, consultation and research. My research background is mainly on enhancing polymeric material properties through innovative approach. My current research interest and activities are;

– Polymer blends.
– Thermal analysis of polymers.
– Isothermal and non-isothermal crystallization kinetics of crystalline polymers.
– Cyclic polymers.
– Polymeric materials for micro-reactor.
– Thermoplastic elastomers.
– Degradation studies/ kinetics of polymeric materials.
– Frozen morphology in polymers.
