The aim of the programme is to provide solutions to one or more significant and challenging problems in managing complex process plant. Thus, the solution to the problem will have to take into account factors such as financial constraints, timescales and human capital management as well as technological issues. The Engineering Doctorate programme is aimed at developing individuals who will innovate but also able to implement the innovations. The EngD. is a radical alternative to the traditional PhD. being better suited to the needs of the industry and providing a more vocationally oriented doctorate in the process industry. It is highly flexible and able to accommodate candidates from all level of management. it is a full-time postgraduate programme where candidates are expected to spend most of their time carrying out

Programme Educational Objectives (PEO)
PEO1 Graduan akan menjadi pengurus yang cekap dalam industri proses yang akan dapat menyumbang kepada pembangunan negara.
Graduates will become competent managers  in the process industry who will be able to contribute to national development.
PEO2 Graduan akan menjadi pengurus yang kreatif, inovatif dan dapat menyesuaikan diri dalam organisasi dan masyarakat.
Graduates will become managers who are  creative, innovative and able to adapt in their organizations and society
PEO3 Graduan menyumbang secara profesional ke arah kesejahteraan dan pembangunan mampan alam sekitar
Graduates can  professionally contribute towards the environment’s well-being and sustainable development
Programme Learning Outcomes (PLO)
PLO1 Graduan berupaya untuk menghasilkan (C5) pengetahuan   baru dan mencadangkan (C6) inovasi  yang boleh digunakan dalam pengurusan loji proses.
Graduates are able to create (C5) new knowledge and recommend (C6) innovation in the application of knowledge of process plant management.
PLO2 Graduan berupaya untuk berinisiatif (P7) eksperimen untuk menyelesaikan  isu-isu berkaitan dengan pengurusan loji proses.
Graduates are able to initiate (P7) experiments to solve issues   related to process plant management.  
PLO3 Graduan dapat menunjukkan (P5) keupayaan untuk berkomunikasi dengan jelas segala dapatan, ilmu,cadangan dan rasional kepada rakan-rakan dan pakar dalam bidang berkaitan
Graduates are able to demonstrate  (P5) the ability to clearly communicate findings,knowledge,recommendation and rationale to peers and experts in  related fields
PLO4 Graduan berupaya untuk mempraktikkan (A5) etika professional di dalam projek penyelidikan yang berkaitan dengan pengurusan loji proses.
Graduates are able to practice (A5) professional ethics in research projects that are related to process plant management.
PLO5 Graduan berupaya untuk mempraktikkan (A5) ilmu pengetahuan didalam bidang yang berkaitan dengan perniagaaan, pengurusan pemprosesan dan teknologi loji.
Graduates  are able to practice (A5) knowledge on business, management, process and plant technology.
PLO6 Graduan berupaya untuk mencipta  (P7) peluang dan perancangan perniagaan yang kompetitif dalam bidang pengurusan loji proses.
Graduates  are able to create (P7) financial and business opportunity in process plant management.
PLO7 Graduan berkeupayaan untuk  bekerja  (A3) secara selesa sebagai ahli atau ketua kumpulan yang multi disiplin.
Graduates are able to work (A3) comfortably as members or leaders of a multi-disciplinary groups
Entry requirement
  • Candidate must hold a Master of Science (Process Plant Management) degree from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, or
  • Master of Engineering or Science degree from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia or any other Institutions of Higher Learning recognized by the Senate, or 
  • Master degree in any other fields (eg. MBA) but with first degree in Engineering or Science with at least 2 years experience in the process industry
