Kamarizan Kidam, 34, is a lecturer in the Department of Chemical Engineering since August 2003 and a research member of Process System Engineering (PSE) Group since 2001. Born in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, and educated in UTM and United Kingdom, started his academic career in UTM since 2001. He is noted as an innovative, energetic, versatile lecturer, and appointed as a Assistance Manager of the Industrial Training Division, Department of Chemical Engineering External Relations Task Force (April 2005-April 2006) and Head of Training Section of Jawatankuasa Kebajikan dan Rekreasi Staf (JAKRIS) of FKKKSA since August 2005.

Kamarizan Kidam is an occupational safety and health practitioner and a competent person as Safety and Health Officer under OSHA 1994. He has more than 5 years working experience as Safety Engineer in petrochemical processing facilities and expose to latest legislation and standard. He has experience in the development, management, implementation and administration on all matters related to occupational safety and health. He was appointed as Coordinator of Occupational Safety and Health Course at Gas Technology Centre (GASTEG), UTM and has also conducted OSH training in many areas.

He has experience in managing more than 10 projects related to process design, energy minimization, process safety audit and OSH-MS audit involving petrochemicals, semi conductor, electronic and food production industries in Malaysia. He is also an experienced instructor for professional courses related to chemical and process engineering. Topics covered including Empowering Safety and Health Committee; Introduction to OSH Legislation and Standard; Accident Prevention, Investigation and Reporting; Chemical Safety; Emergency Response Planning, Permit To Work System; and Hazard Communication. His main research interests are in Process Systems Engineering, Process Safety, Inherent Safety, Risk Management and industrial relationship.
